Some people come into the world to find themselves
Others go into themselves to find the world
This statement sums up that most people think that identity is created and shaped by external factors
They define their existence by the things they have, places they go and company they keep
This method is the endless search
Where an individual has everything they need in front of them and they have yet to take a look inside
This look inside oneself allows us the ability to find and become acquainted with our true self
This is an uncomfortable, lengthy process with a life-changing payoff
In order to truly connect with others, we must first practice being vulnerable
Vulnerability creates connection and in order to truly connect with others we must first connect with our self
This means practicing vulnerability with your inner voice first
know your feelings your stories and how those stories shape your reality
Which uncomfortable tales have you pushed aside when tackling them head on will break the Chains that hold you back
Once we take that freeing look into ourselves we find our world
That is a journal entry from Punta Cana 2021
That was recalled to me today via a conversation was having reminded me to go take a look at it and it rings truer and truer every day
We were brought up by and large to value the things
What can we get
What can we be
What can we do
How can we define ourselves with this job or this house
And there was a little, little talk around how do we build our self-worth
How do we establish who we are
Because I don't know about y'all, that would have been kinda cool
I mean get me right here, I really, really am enjoying this ride
And if we had fast tracked, imagine how that changes kid’s lives
If you can fast track “here's how to understand yourself” work
What does that do
We're not kids anymore, right
So what about us
What about those of you out there listening thinking “damn he's right… That shit scares the ever loving hell out of me"
Good
It'll be a fun ride
You're aware of it
If it scares you you’re at base level at least aware
And my friend if you're aware then you can take action
What that action looks like is up to you
So ask yourself
Who is it that you want to be
What do you want to embody
Who do you want to become 10 years from now
Do you do anything
Who would you be
How would you go about your day
How do you treat people
How would you be treated
How would people see you
Then ask yourself okay, what does me ten years from now do then that I can do right now
And as soon as you have that done, what's the next thing and the next thing and another one
And before you know it, you’re at the ten year goal and it’s only been five years
You see, when we look into ourselves, when we dive into ourselves we can find an untapped power supply
Because we been out there trying to find power and this external sources
This validation
Or this little success token in the form of an expensive car
Or a fancy trip
Now don’t get me wrong
I'm not saying don't enjoy your cars
don't enjoy your trips of the physical or metaphysical kind
what I am saying is that if every time you come back from driving your sports car
Or you return from vacation you are dreading the life you’re coming back to
It starts inside
So what life do you wanna build and who is it that lives that life

Force fed a story from day one
You’ve spent your life
Checking boxes
Yearning for more
Force fed a story from day one
You’ve spent your life
Checking boxes
Yearning for more
Who are you
How do you define yourself
If the job, the accolades and the possessions were stripped away
Who would you be
Have you ever asked yourself if you know who you're meant to be
We’ve all at one point or another been told who we should be
According to others' expectations
Force fed a story from day one
You’ve spent your life
Checking boxes
Yearning for more
F-F-F-Force fed a story from day one
You’ve spent your life
Checking boxes
Yearning for more
Force fed a story from day one that has been passed down by our parents parents
We develop a tendency to walk the path tread by others even if it feels wrong
That wrong gut feeling is often our intuition
Awareness of which we are never taught to develop
Or worse, instructed to ignore in the name of playing safe
By burying and ignoring our intuition we create a dizzying noise in the back of our head
One that grows louder and more persistent as time goes by
This voice is screaming
Unfortunately, the inability to accurately hear and understand this voice
Our intuition
Is often perceived as a nagging spouse
A horrible boss
Or poor health
It is only when we learn to understand our intuition
That we will start to understand who were meant to be
It is only when we learn to understand who we were meant to be
What has your inner voice been screaming and you ignoring
Because you're unaware of the value it will bring
Or worse, scared you may be way off course
Force fed a story from day one
You’ve spent your life
Checking boxes
Yearning for more
Force fed a story from day one
You’ve spent your life
Checking boxes
Yearning for more
When the answers have been within yourself
Next time your inner knowing causes a rustle in your brain
Ask what it is craving
Stay quiet and listen
When you quiet the noise and hear your soul
You'll begin to discover who you are meant to be
When that picture comes into focus what action will you take
To become your truest self
Force fed a story from day one
You’ve spent your life
Checking boxes
Yearning for more
Force fed a story from day one
You’ve spent your life
Checking boxes
Yearning for more
